Terminating all these instances using window’s task manager and then restarting the app might fix this

It turns out that the gamble paid off as Call of the Sea is a dazzling next-gen showcase. Microsoft seemed to be throwing its support behind an untested collective of (admittedly veteran) developers, specialising in niche narrative and puzzle games. Call of the Sea is the first game from fledgling Spanish studio Out of the Blue Games, which made it something of a surprise when the first-person puzzle adventure featured prominently at the first Xbox Games Showcase for Series X|S earlier this year. Now, having something about roughly 400 hours of Dark Souls games in Steam (including Remastered, but excluding original DS2, without the “SoTFS” subtitle – what I actually plan to fix in close future) and who-knows-how-much of Bloodborne experience as an asset, I can’t contain how joyous I feel playing Severance all over again. Yet, despite how much I loved it, I never managed to finish it. However, Blade of Darkness, in my humble opinion, rises and shines in a very unique way and it always took a special place in my heart, without a doubt. Needless to say, all of these games I mentioned above I still have with me. Drakan I’ve finished, I think, at least 5 times, and I still play it even now. I has always been a fan of “slashy and gory” games, such as Drakan: Order Of The Flame, or Deathtrap Dungeon, or Die By The Sword, that I didn’t have a chance to enjoy fully at the time for some technical, as I recall, reasons. I used to play it when I was a kid, in the age of 12 or 13 – or maybe even younger not long after the game has been released. A wonderful, meticulously made game from Spanish developers that still rocks well enough in our times, yet, unfortunately, also quite well forgotten by many gamers. … is one of my all-time favourite games called Severance: Blade of Darkness. |
